Happy Diwali!

After what I can only describe as an exciting, hectic and surprise filled week at Saathi we are ready for a holiday!

Here is a brief about our week!

Exciting was our awareness workshop ( Let’s Talk Pads ) at FabLab, CEPT. We were thrilled about our new content and getting a discussion started about sanitary waste and understanding the urban Indian perspective on sanitation and waste. The response was very encouraging and we look forward to conducting more of these workshops around Ahmedabad. Keep an eye out for another post on the learnings!

Hectic has been the theme for our engineers who have been working hard to make progress before the holidays: sourcing materials, testing pads and testing the machine. We've gotten some promising results so far!

Surprise has certainly been the word of the week at Saathi. Throughout the week everyone was aware of some behind the scene activity. When some of us confronted our co-founder Kristin she gave away very little by saying it was a “surprise”. This resulted in us shouting surprise at every opportunity in hopes it would lead to the surprise coming sooner. The surprise ended up being a fun filled evening at the Ahmedabad Riverfront Park, playing team building games and celebrating Diwali with food.

However, the most surprising thing for most of us and more importantly for Kristin was the excitement of having a team! In June, Saathi, India was just one person, five months later Saathi is 7 people strong and we look forward to adding more Saathis to the mission!

So on the occasion of Saathi’s first official Diwali in India and on behalf of the team I wish you all; our well-wishers and followers a very Happy Diwali!!
